Sony Might Release A High-End Xperia Handset Sporting A Type-C USB Port

After announcing a trio of devices at MWC 2016, leaked images show that Sony is prepping another handset. Question is, what sort of hardware it is going to be packing and when it is going to be released.

Unnamed Sony Xperia Is The First In The Family To Feature A Type-C USB Port – Announcement Could Be During IFA 2016

Sony is retaining the rectangular design of its upcoming unnamed Xperia handset, and while we honestly appreciate this design, the edges pressing against your flesh while it is stored in your pocket will bring you a severe amount of discomfort. One other thing that we noticed was that there’s no camera hump, which could mean that the area included could be covered with a larger battery, thus ensuring that the user receives his fill of battery life. Additionally, a Type-C USB port is going to be the first on the Xperia lineup.

While we do not know the hardware specifications of this device, we are pretty sure that Sony will incorporate several components that are going to be common between this phone and the company’s Xperia X Performance. Speaking of Xperia X Performance, the smartphone had a ton of features going in its favor. Starting off, the device has a 23MP sensor with an F/2.0 aperture. It might not be the widest aperture to find in smartphones, but it is definitely acceptable in removing the background from the focused object.

We could argue that the 23MP shooter will take detailed photos during the daytime, but could suffer in low-light thanks to high megapixel count. The front camera will definitely make your selfies come to life thanks to a 13MP shooter. The front sensor has the same aperture, just in case you were wondering.

3GB of RAM will be found underneath the hood and its 32GB of internal storage can easily be supplemented by a 200GB MicroSD card, and you will find on several online retailers that storage cards boasting such capacities are pretty easy to come by. Xperia X Performance is available to purchase in the following colors:

  • White
  • Graphite Black
  • Lime Gold
  • Rose Gold

Despite all of these impressive traits, Sony does not seem to understand the situation that pricing is key for its mobile division to become successful. For its price tag, Sony Xperia X Performance does not exactly provide comfort to the user when they are shelling out exorbitant amount of funds, and we sincerely hope that the company is able to change this with the announcement of its future flagship.
