Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Sales Exceed Over 20 Million
Samsung seems to have hit the right chord with the consumers as shipments for the Galaxy S8+ series are still turning out be strong. According to a report by The Investor (based on the research from Strategy Analytics), shipments for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ crossed whopping 20 million units last month.
The report goes on claiming that Samsung has shipped around 278,800 units of Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ per day on an average since the series launched in April. These numbers seem to be pretty strong for the S8 series. However, the comparison is yet to be made with the predecessor Galaxy S7 series in the same period, last year. We don’t have the figures of Galaxy S7 sales for the same period, last year, but Samsung has claimed that the latest Galaxy S8 series is comparatively more popular than the Galaxy S7 or series before that.
To recall, a few weeks back, Samsung Mobile CEO DJ Koh revealed that the sale of Galaxy S8 series is 15 percent higher than the Galaxy S7 series. Following that, the company stated in a conference that sales of Galaxy S8 are twice of Galaxy S7 in some markets. These details are impressive as the S8 series was released a few weeks after the LG G6. Similarly, the Galaxy S7 also overshadowed the LG G5 last year, but it was released a month before the G5. It goes without saying that the Galaxy S7 eclipsed the LG G5.
What after the launch of the Galaxy Note 8?
It will be interesting to see if the Galaxy S8 maintains its sale performance in the coming as Samsung is soon going to unveil the much-awaited Galaxy Note 8 on August 23 at the Unpacked Event in the New York City. The company believes that the Galaxy Note 8 will be heavy on the marketing budget and by then the Galaxy S8 will be a few months old, which means that the sale of the Galaxy S8 series could go downwards. We will get to know about all that after the Galaxy Note 8 becomes official.
