RAGE “PC System Requirements” Now Official

System Requirements of id's highly anticipated FPS "RAGE" are now official through the Bethesda Blog. RAGE which is set to release on October 4th 2011 will be id's first game to utilize the id Tech 5 Engine and would redefine the first-person shooting genre with an amazing gaming experience.

Following are the Official Requirements of the game:

  • OS: Win XP SP3, Vista, Win 7
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo or Equivalent AMD
  • Memory: 2GB
  • Hard Disk Space: 25GB
  • Video Card: GeForce 8800, Radeon HD 4200

  • OS: Win XP SP3, Vista, Win 7
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad or Equivalent AMD
  • Memory: 4GB
  • Hard Disk Space: 25GB
  • Video Card: GeForce 9800 GTX, ATI Radeon HD 5550

We've already heard John Carmack's Keynotes where he said how good the game would be optimized for the PC and Consoles allowing 60FPS Constant on Integrated Graphics Processors and Consoles. Well the requirments to achieve that 60FPS on the PC look a bit funny. Although a Quad Core + 4GB Ram Space is great as many of current PC users have got 4-6 Core CPU's with 4-8GB Rams but a 3 Year Old GPU's (9800GTX and HD5550)?

Yup those are the recommended GPU's to run the game on maxed out settings with an acceptable frame rate. But many current PC gamers now own some of the fastest GPU solutions ever made which are twice as fast as the Geforce 9 Series and HD5000 Series GPU's. However 25GB Disk Space is a thing to note, We've already heard about the Xbox360 versions to use two DVD's while the PS3 version would be carried on the BluRay-L Drive. The high storage size means that id would be using Hi-Res Quality Textures on all platforms just like Carmack revealed on the QuakeCon keynote.

Last of all, Rage would be using Steamworks featuring Steam Achievements, VOIP, and Friends support. This game is a must to buy FPS title of this year, You can Pre-Order it off steam right now over here.
