Turn Your Furniture Into A Charging Station With Couchlet

Apr 26, 2015

Everyone has a device that needs to be charged and that is why Chris Hawker has come up with a new product that puts power near your posterior. Whether it’s your phone, tablet or any other device that needs to be charged, a USB power system will always be near you. The new device called Couchlet is a USB power system that you can put between you couch, cushions, mattresses, or other furniture that is comfortably within your reach.

The Couchlet provides power where you want it

The device is very simple looking, it is a 6ft USB cable that is connected to a power brick, that’s enough length for people to feel comfortable and not have to sit in weird positions just to charge their smart devices. The device has two USB ports for plugging in devices simultaneously and there is an arm which allows the device to be lodged between two cushions keeping it firmly in place. The cost of the device is $16 and for a limited time it’s two for the same price, so better hurry up and get one of these while the promotion still lasts. Here is what Chris has to say about the device:

Sitting on the couch while your phone is charging? The Couchlet nests between cushions. Having trouble reaching your charger from the bed? The Couchlet™ has a folding arm that wedges under your mattress. The Couchlet’s wedge-shaped design means that it fits between or under cushions and mattresses so that you can barely even see it. The fold out leg gives you extra stability and the ability to slide the Couchlet™ onto the outside of your furniture. Each Couchlet comes with a detachable 6-foot USB cable that uses your current wall charger for power. The Couchlet is low voltage, so it’s just as safe as the charging cord that comes with your phone.

He mentions that the device has low voltage so the worry of ever spilling something on it and the device exploding is out of the question, plus things become a lot safer when they are low voltage right? Here’s the origin story for the Couchlet:

When we were brainstorming product opportunities, we realized that all of us have experienced cramped muscles, awkward stretching and texting with our phone two feet from our face. A few of us had even rigged up an elaborate system of cords or power strips in our couch and on our bed. We knew there had to be a better way to solve this issue. It needed to be sturdy, compatible with any device, have a long cord, and be slim and easy to slide in between seat cushions. Thus the Couchlet was born!

The device starts shipping in December 2015 so better get ready to order as this device is going to solve a lot of charging problems.
