The rumored price tag of OnePlus 3T was said to be $479, but an online retailer has allegedly spilled the beans on the price of the ‘soon to be’ announced handset, and we have to tell you right now that it is far from cheap, but at least we’ll receive a hefty number of upgrades right?
Oppomart Has Listed the OnePlus 3T to Be Priced at $499 – Worthy Price for a Snapdragon 821 Smartphone?
Listed on an online retailer Oppomart, the model name OnePlus 3T has been listed and it is running a Snapdragon 821, as earlier teased by Qualcomm not too long ago. The Snapdragon 821 will have increased CPU and GPU clock speeds as opposed to the Snapdragon 820-powered OnePlus 3, bumping performance by a small margin. Unfortunately, there are a few things that we were disappointed to see from the handset so let us hope that the official announcement of the smartphone is much different than this.
The resolution has been retained at 1080p, most likely to conserve battery life, but with the handset capable of rendering Daydream content, you will obviously need a higher resolution for a better experience. Though 1080p is the minimum requirement, a 1440p panel is ideal for such a situation. Another thing that you should see is the fact that the smartphone only packs a 3,080mAh, just 80mAh higher than the battery present inside OnePlus 3. There are storage options of 64 and 128GB, so that’s a welcome addition, although seeing a higher battery capacity would have made me happier.
There are no details present about the camera sensors, but one rumor claims that OnePlus 3T will have a 16MP Sony IMX398 sensor, and could be just the third smartphone after Galaxy S7, and Galaxy S7 edge to feature a smartphone camera aperture of F/1.7. With all of these upgrades, the one gripe that I am having right now is the small battery upgrade; if OnePlus is charging a $100 over its OnePlus 3, the least it could do was incorporate a larger battery capacity.
I am hoping that the official announcement is much different in terms of specifications that you see listed here otherwise this is going to be a disappointing flagship upgrade. What do you think of the specifications so far? Tell us your thoughts right away.
