NVIDIA GTX 1070 Ti Launching October 26th At $429 To Tackle AMD’s RX Vega 56

Just over a week ago we heard industry whispers that NVIDIA may potentially be preparing a GeForce GTX 1070 Ti graphics card to go up against AMD's recently introduced RX Vega 56.  We learned quite a bit more about the card since then and it appears that this fabled card is slowly but surely migrating from the realm of rumordom to reality.

NVIDIA's RX Vega 56 Killer, A Bargain GTX 1080 In Disguise, GTX 1070 Ti Launching Next Month At $429

Let's start with a short refresher about what the GTX 1070 Ti is actually made of. The new card is based on the same GP104 GPU that powers the company's popular GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 graphics cards. In terms of specs, the 1070 Ti is much closer to the 1080 than it is to the 1070. It allegedly features 2432 CUDA cores and 152 Texture Mapping Units, that's just 128 CUDA cores and 12 TMUs shy of the GTX 1080.

The card will allegedly run at a core clock speed of 1607MHz and a boost clock speed of 1683MHz, which is a happy middle ground between the GTX 1080 and GTX 1070. One key way the GTX 1070 Ti differs from the GTX 1080 is that it features standard GDDR5 memory rather than the faster and more expensive GDDR5X that the 1080 makes use of. The new GeForce card is rumored to be priced at an MSRP of $429, half way between the GTX 1080 and GTX 1070.

Two sources reported today that the GTX 1070 Ti will be announced on the 26th of October with on-shelf availability a week later on November 2nd.
