On 15th of May this year, Nokia Pakistan, on behalf of Nokia, unveiled two brand new phones at their Karachi event that are the Nokia 110 and the Nokia 112.

Nokia this time has introduced two low end devices that have been optimized for internet accessibility; not on wifi that is. The phones have been made to target those who can’t afford a smartphone but yet want to access the internet on the go.

Targeting a price range of 4000 PKR, it particularly puts up competition with Chinese made phones in this segment that come with frankly quite a lot more features than these Nokia phones.

The phones are both of the Dual SIM category and can store up to settings of 5 different SIM cards with more of the option with Nokia’s Easy Swap technology that saves the hassle of changing SIMs without the need of turning the phone off or taking out the battery.

The phone offers one click access to Facebook, Twitter and other social media networks on the go from the home screen.

Finally the word is out. Nokia has officially unveiled two feature phones from Pakistan namely Nokia 110 and Nokia 112.

Unlike we were expecting full touch S40 series phones from Asha series, Nokia has introduced low end devices – that it is calling for the next billion – Nokia 110, and Nokia 112 – entry level phones with optimized internet accessibility.

Aim is to target those customers who don’t have pockets to afford a smartphone but they want to access internet. This is probably why Nokia emphasized so much on the benefits of internet during the opening notes.

Another aim to launch low-end devices (priced around PKR 4,000) is to compete with Chinese made phones, which by the way offer far better features than these newly launched devices.

Both devices will offer one click access to Facebook, Twitter and social media networks from home screen. Nokia claims that internet experience with Nokia 110 and Nokia 112 will be smooth thanks to the Nokia’s Browser that allows users to consume less data by up to 90%, by compressing websites in the cloud.

The devices all feature a 1.8″ display (said to be) optimized for a better gaming experience. Besides that, 40 EA Game titles will be available for free in the coming months on the phones that includes Tetris®, Bejeweled®, Need for Speed(TM) The Run, Monopoly Here & Now, and SimCity(TM) Deluxe.

Storage wise the internal memory is 16 MB while the MicroSD slot supports up to 32 GB of storage. In the camera department there is a VGA camera and an overall talk time of 10 hours with a whole month’s standby.
