Latest iPhone 8 Concept Takes Inspiration from Xiaomi Mi Mix, But Goes Even Beyond
We have just come across a hot new iPhone 8 concept that takes a lot of inspiration from Xiaomi Mi Mix.
This iPhone 8 Concept Features a Display That is Taken Right to the Edge, Literally
When we talk about smartphones, we automatically assume a device in our head that has a rectangular body with a huge screen slapped in front of it. Of course, there are bezels on the top and bottom, something that is pretty much a given these days. Things are taken further with funky design choices such as curved edge displays and whatnot. But how can one retain the same shape we love and take it further when it comes to design? Well, Xiaomi has answered this question with its Mi Mix smartphone which features a bezel-less display. But the smartphone features a slight chin at the bottom, something that can be easily ignored. A design marvel to say the least.
Today, a new iPhone 8 concept has surfaced on the Web, conjured up by Veniamin Geskin, that takes things to the edge. Not only it features an edge-to-edge display, but the whole package features just the screen at the front, nothing more, nothing less. Take a look at it and see for yourself what we are talking about.
From a design standpoint, the above concept looks like an absolute beast. The display ensures focus stays on the content the user is viewing, nothing else. Also, the smartphone features no bezel at the bottom of the display, unlike the Mi Mix. Nonetheless, the inspiration cues are right there and I for one love the design choices made here.
Sadly though, it's highly unlikely Apple will release such a smartphone next year, or even the one after that. Take a look at the Mi Mix for instance, it's in a concept brought to life and is still treated as such. There's a long way to go until such a design is deemed fit for day to day use. But still, it looks hot and we wish we end up seeing more of it in the months to come.
In the meantime, the closest thing you can get to the above concept is the Mi Mix itself, which sadly, isn't available to buy outside of China.
Let us know in the comments section what you think about the above concept. Do you think such a design will see itself being sold to the mainstream consumer very soon? Sound off below!
