Latest Google Pixel 2 XL Render Claims 6″ Screen Size; Shows Elegant Screen Curves With Extreme Front Camera Placement
With July and summers having set in full pace, we're finally starting to see leaks related to Google's upcoming Pixel lineup take place with full swing. Mountain View's entry in the flagship smartphone race last year surprised a few folks, courtesy of the rumor mill. Now, the mill's back at it again and this time, we're seeing information related to this year's Pixels surface. Today, a fresh render for the smartphone has surfaced, comparing it to its predecessors. Take a look below to find out more.
2017 Pixel XL surfaces In Yet Another Renders; Slight Screen Size Increase And Minimum Bezels Present
Just a couple of days back we saw a detailed render for the Pixel 2 XL surface. Keep in mind that all nomenclatures assigned to this year's smartphones from Google are purely arbitrary. There's no evidence on what the company will actually call its devices, so your guess is as good as ours at this point. That being said, today, another render for the smartphone has surfaced today. It shows more or less what surfaced previously.
This year, the trend for flagship devices is reduced bezels. Manufacturers have finally managed to get around those nasty blots at the top and bottom of a smartphone's front facade. LG and Samsung both have launched fantastic devices with minimum bezels and Apple's also rumored to take a similar approach this year. Now, Google's Pixel 2 XL, with its display manufactured by LG, will also take a similar approach.
The Pixel 2 XL is the device in the middle. This render is almost an exact copy of what Android Authority posted a while back. We've got the similar curved screen, smaller bezels, a larger microphone which might double as a stereo speaker and a front camera that's a bit too far out for comfort. Interesting, we're also given the smartphone's size. According to the source, the Pixel 2 XL will measure 6" diagonal. That's only a slight increase over the Pixel XL but the gain in screen estate is massive courtesy of reduced bezels.
Specifications wise, there's little concrete information for us to go on. The Pixel lineup will feature the Snapdragon 835 that's for sure. We're expecting 4GB RAM as Google will once again launch the devices with stock Android on board. Apart from that, water and dust proofing will also make it on board. However, unless Google also launches a 'brownie' feature, the Pixel lineup will simply only be excellent flagship devices. Samsung after all offers Iris scanning and Apple's rumored to take a shot at 3D recognition. Thoughts? Let us know what you think in the comment section below and stay tuned. We'll keep you updated on the latest.
