Jailbreak iOS 5 Beta 6 on iPhone, iPod and iPad using Snowbreeze
Apple seeded iOS 5 Beta 6 for developers yesterday and now the jailbreak tool is out. iH8snOw has updated Snowbreeze to v2.8 beta 6 which allows you to jailbreak your idevice. You can jailbreak iPhone 3GS (old bootrom) untethered while rest of the supported iDevices can be jailbroken tethered using this tool with features and precaution that all jailbreakers love to take before proceeding to jailbreak their device.
At first there were rumors surrounding that Redsnow 0.9.8 Beta 5 could be used to jailbreak iOS 5 Beta 6 as well but it was not official like snowbreeze 2.8b6. Snowbreeze not only allows you to perform a tethered or untethered jailbreak but also enables you to update preserving your baseband, for those who rely on Ultrasnow or Gevey Sim unlock. However, most importantly this version removes UDID check so that non developers can update to iOS 5 Beta 6 as well, along with the ability to hacktivate your device.
The tool supports the following devices along with the jailbreak type:
- iPhone 3GS (Old Bootrom) – Untethered
- iPhone 3GS (New Bootrom) – Tethered
- iPhone 4 (GSM) – Tethered
- iPhone 4 (CDMA) – Tethered
- iPod Touch 3G – Tethered
- iPod Touch 4 – Tethered
- iPad 1G – Tethered
In order to jailbreak you need to download iOS 5 Beta 6 and iTunes 10.5 Beta 6 from HERE. The method to jailbreak is the same as for the previous versions. Locate your downloaded ipsw file in snowbreeze and follow the instructions.
