Alleged iPhone 8 Diagram Shows Four Miniature Cameras, Possibly for AR and Security Purposes
The leaked sketch of the iPhone 8 showing all sorts of new features ranging from a wireless charging circuit to four different camera lenses has been updated in a new leak where several components of the phone have been labeled. Apart from having additional labels on them and highlighting which component will be situated in what position, almost nothing has been changed about this leak.
Labeled iPhone 8 Diagram Info States Four Camera Lenses Present at the Top of Phone With Qi Wireless Charging Circuit Placed Right in the Middle
As mentioned in the previous rumor, the iPhone 8 could come with several AR features, but to take advantage of those features, the implementation of a proper camera is a must. According to the image given below, MyDrivers says someone by the name Wei Feng revealed a more detailed image of the sketch that we reported about earlier and says that the top of the phone features a total of four cameras.
Our guess is that if they are actually cameras, they could take advantage of whatever augmented reality features Apple intends to release later in the year and they could also be used for facial recognition and iris scanning purposes.
The location of the Taptic Engine is revealed, but for some reason, the image shows an incorrect spelling. The battery seems like a reasonably sized capacity and just like before, we see a Qi wireless charging coil that is situated in the middle of the phone.
Just like before, OnLeaks did not trust the authenticity of the leak so we highly recommend that you take the above-mentioned info with a pinch of salt. Leaks can immediately change without warning and with one of the hottest phones scheduled to be announced later in the year, you can definitely expect more of these to come through.
I am particularly interested in the four cameras present at the top, if they are really cameras. Looks like authentic leaks set to be revealed in the future will confirm this and if not that, then the iPhone 8’s official announcement will detail them.
