iOS 10 GM Drops for Public Beta Testers and Upgrading Is Absolutely Simple
Apart from seeding iOS 10 GM to registered developers yesterday, Apple is now expanding its reach to those who are enrolled in the company's Beta Software Program. Basically, if you have iOS 10 Public Beta installed on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, you can download iOS 10 GM right away in a snap. We'll show you how it's done.
1. Connect to a WiFi network first of all.
2. Now launch the Settings app from your home screen.
3. Tap on General.
4. Now look for an option called Software Update and tap on it.
5. The iOS 10 GM build will pop right up. Tap on the 'Download and Install' button to initiate the download process.
6. Once the download is complete tap on the 'Install Now' button.
Your device will restart and you'll be upgraded straight to the latest mobile software release from Apple. The best thing here is that you don't have to install anything from the ground up, meaning you won't lose your files, settings, apps etc.
If you can't wait for September 13th and wish to install iOS 10 GM right now before anyone else, then you need to have an Apple Developer Program membership at hand. It will grant you quick access to Apple's latest pre-release bits, all ready to be installed on any compatible hardware.
We're quite certain at this point you have a friend or two who can hook you up with iOS 10, so why not knock their door for some help? After all, it's been a while since you said hi to them, so make this the perfect opportunity to socialize and get some work done.
Like we mentioned above, the consumer release of iOS 10 is all set for September 13th, which happens to fall on a Tuesday next week. Once the OS is available for all compatible devices, we will show our readers how to upgrade in the most swift manner possible. We will ensure things are as easy as possible for everyone, while at the same time, detailed.
If you're a Public Beta tester, we recommend updating your device right away. While the rest of you can carry on with the waiting game.
