How to Find Your Lost iPhone Using Apple Watch
If you have lost your iPhone, then here’s how you can find it immediately with the help of your Apple Watch.
Find My iPhone is the Way to Go For Most Cases, But Your Apple Watch Can Save the Day too
If you lose your iPhone, you can remotely wipe it or locate it using Apple’s Find My iPhone service. But there are times when the service might not prove to be that effective. For instance, if you end up dropping your iPhone between the car’s seat, and you think to yourself: where did that darn thing go? Did my car eat it or something? A simple audible notification from your iPhone would make the locating task so much easier, wouldn’t it? Well, yes. If you have an Apple Watch connected to your iPhone, then you can ping your smartphone in order to locate it right away. Here’s how you do it.
1. Swipe up from the bottom on your Apple Watch’s main watch face.
2. You will be presented with a bunch of different toggle switches. See the one that looks like a phone? Tap on it.
3. You will notice that your iPhone starts ringing immediately once you do. This only happens if your Apple Watch and iPhone has a Bluetooth connection in between them. If that’s not the case, then it’s best to refer to Find My iPhone instead.
Having a Bluetooth connection between your iPhone and Apple Watch is a strict requirement if you want things to work. Apart from that, this method might not prove to be that fruitful in locating your iPhone. Basically, it works best for quick little situations where you believe you might have dropped your iPhone somewhere or you are sitting in your car and wish to locate your smartphone immediately.
My only gripe with this feature is that it does not allow a user to set a custom alert tone whenever you ping your iPhone from your Apple Watch. It’s a little personal touch that might go a long way. But hey, just hope that you don’t find yourself in a situation where you frantically want to locate your iPhone in the first place.
