Google Maps for iOS Gains Popular Times Support in Latest Update

Google Maps for iOS just received an update, allowing users to check out Popular Times for a place right from the app itself.

Popular Times Extends its Wings into Google Maps App for iOS

Checking out traffic conditions right from Google Maps has been a key feature of the app. But, if you want to see how things are like indoors, then you have to head over to Google's mobile or desktop website and then check out Popular Times from there. Basically you have to break away from the Google Maps app which tarnishes the entire experience with frustration. But thankfully, Google realizes this and has updated its mapping app on iOS with support for Popular Times, allowing you to check and see how much people you will run into when reaching a certain place.

Google Maps Receives Improvements With ‘Immersive View’ and the Ability to Use Live View’s AR

The addition of Popular Times in Google Maps comes as an addition to the app with the release of version 4.27.0. Here's the complete changelog of the release:

• See how crowded a place is in real-time and the average time people spend there for easy decision making
• Quickly access addresses in your clipboard while searching
• Bug fixes

With the feature under your belt, you will be able to see instantly how much crowd you will likely run into at a given time in a certain place. But that's not all, you can also check out how much time a person usually spends at that particular location. Using this data, you can plan out your day with ease, and hopefully, avoid a huge crowd wherever you are going. Such data is extremely useful during shopping events such as Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
