Taking the improvements incorporated in the Galaxy S6 and refining them further in its successor, both the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge represent the best of the best in Android smartphone technology. Even after the Galaxy Note7 fallout, it was Samsung’s previous flagship family that came to the company’s trouble and saved it from certain financial doom. This gives thought that the Galaxy S7 must have been one heck of a smartphone if it was able to generate a sufficient number of sales and according to the latest report, the flagship ended up becoming the most used smartphone in the world.

ScientiaMobile Releases Its Report for Q1 2017, Concluding That the Galaxy S7 Is the Most Used Handset in Mobile Browsing Than Any Other Smartphone in the World

Revealing its Mobile Overview Report (MOVR), Samsung’s Galaxy S5 is no longer the most used device in the world right now, being overtaken by the highly improved Galaxy S7. Coming directly to the statistics part of this report, it was found that the Galaxy S5 peaked in popularity in November 2015 at 5.5 percent, which is approximately 579 days after launch.

Samsung thoroughly improved its successor, the Galaxy S6 in terms of a design overhaul by giving it the metal and glass chassis, and it peaked in June 2016 at 3.1 percent, 428 days after launch, and remained well below its predecessor until March 2017.

On the other hand, Samsung’s Galaxy S7 continues to grow in popularity and managed to outpace both the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S6 in April 2017 and that too after a period of 400 days. Now comes the close monitoring of the Galaxy S8, which features ‘top of the line’ hardware and features and was launched just a while back.

Granted, it has not been a long time since the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ were officially launched in several markets, so it will take a while before ScientiaMobile can provide accurate findings of its report, possibly during the later months of 2017.

Given the number of freebies and pre-order numbers that both the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have registered, it looks like both flagships are expected to bring in a hefty number of sales.

However, can they surpass the popularity of the Galaxy S7? Looks like we will find out in the future.
