Fix iOS 9 WiFi Issues On iPhone, iPad – How To
Here’s a complete guide on how you can fix iOS 9 WiFi issues on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
Apart from cellular network issues on iOS 9, users are also complaining that their devices are acting shoddy when it comes to connecting to a WiFi network, with certain hotspots failing to join, taking longer than usual to connect, or no instance of browsing takes place even with a strong signal. If you’re facing all those issues, then follow our guide below in order to get things up and running again.
Forget And Rejoin WiFi Network
Open the Settings app and navigate to WiFi, tap on the little ‘i’ button next to the WiFi network you’re trying to connect to, and then tap on ‘Forget This Network’ at the top. Now rejoin the very same network from scratch.
At times, forgetting or rejoining a network is not needed. Open up Settings, go to WiFi, and tap on the ‘i’ next to the WiFi network you’re connected to. Tap on the ‘Renew Lease’ button located at the bottom.
Use ‘W-iFi Assist’
iOS 9 has a neat feature which allows your device to utilize cellular data if your WiFi signal is weak. Navigate to Settings > Cellular, scroll all the way down and toggle the ‘Wi-Fi Assist’ switch. Try it in the ON and OFF position both to see which one works out best for you.
Try Using A Different DNS
It’s quite possible that your ISP’s DNS is broken, and in that case you might want to try out something new. Check out our guide posted here on how to set up and use a custom DNS on an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch: How To Use Custom DNS Settings On iPhone, iPad.
