WinterBoard For iOS 9 Now Available To Download
A new WinterBoard update is available to download on Cydia. The new release brings with it full support for iOS 9 - 9.0.2.
Latest Version Of WinterBoard Adds Full Support For iOS 9
Time moves at a very fast pace in the world of jailbreaking, hence users tend to find alternatives for tweaks that haven't been updated to support the latest and greatest firmware which can be jailbroken using publicly available tools. But some packages are those that are worth the wait, and WinterBoard falls into that category.
For those who are unaware of WinterBoard, it's a framework created by the person behind Cydia, Jay Freeman aka Saurik, that allows you to theme iOS to your heart's liking. Without WinterBoard, a numerous number of themes on Cydia are absolutely redundant. But thankfully, Saurik has pushed out an update to WinterBoard that brings in the much needed support for iOS 9 - 9.0.2.
The complete changelog of the new WinterBoard for iOS 9 update is as follows:
Version 0.9.3919 is effectively just the smallest possible update for iOS 9.
In this release, Saurik saw it fit to push out an update that brings in support for iOS 9 - 9.0.2, hence don't expect any new features to make the cut.
If you've been a long time user of iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and always wanted to theme your device then do not forget to grab the latest WinterBoard update directly from the Cydia store. Just launch Cydia, do a quick search for WinterBoard and install like any other package. And oh, it's absolutely free.
The timing of the release of WinterBoard for iOS 9 is somewhat odd, given the fact that Apple has patched the Pangu 9 jailbreak with the release of iOS 9.1 download. This means that user must take extra precaution while installing themes, as a buggy download may put your device into a boot loop, forcing you to update to the latest version of iOS that cannot be jailbroken. Make sure you check out which themes are updated to take advantage of iOS 9 before you go ahead with the download and installation process. You really do not want to risk anything on your device at this current point in time, and would want to install tweaks and packages with extra precaution, ensuring that nothing goes wrong at any step of the way.
