iOS 9.2 Beta 2 Now Available – Download Now
iOS 9.2 beta 2 for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch is now available to download for those enrolled in the Apple Developer Program.
Apple released the first beta of iOS 9.2 a week back, with the Public Beta build arriving for non-developers shortly after. Today, Apple has released the second developer oriented beta to those enrolled in the Apple Developer Program, and is available as separate download as well as OTA update.
If you already have the first beta of iOS 9.2 installed on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch then simply connect your device to a WiFi network, launch the Settings app and navigate to General > Software Update. The beta 2 update will pop right up and you can subsequently download it and install. Make sure you have at least 50% of battery juice available on your device in order to install the update, otherwise iOS will prompt you to plug your device into a power outlet to proceed.
If you’re a developer then we highly recommend that you update to the second beta os iOS 9.2 right away as the new pre-release build brings with it a bunch of bug fixes and performance enhancements. Furthermore, we will be digging into the new beta release to find out what’s new in this particular release, though we’re certain that Apple might not have slipped anything new at this point, given how big of a release iOS 9.1 download was.
If you already have iOS 9.2 installed on your device and are looking to downgrade back to the current public release, which is iOS 9.1, then you can do so by following our guide posted here. The steps are easy to follow and you’ll be required to have iTunes installed on your PC or Mac in order to carry on with the procedure, so be sure you fulfill all the requirements before going ahead with the downgrade process.
It’s great to see that Apple is pushing out new builds of its mobile operating system on a regular basis, ensuring that iOS 9.x remains as smooth as possible for the end user and a favorable platform for developers. Developers on the other hand should update to iOS 9.2 beta 2 right away, especially if you happen to be testing apps or games for release in the near future. You don’t want to end up with a botched release do you? Of course not.
