Cyberpunk 2077 Aims for Next-Gen Consoles and PCs – Trailer Unveiled

Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt Red, today released the latest trailer of their upcoming Sci-Fi RPG title Cyberpunk 2077. The developer of the renowned Witcher series is aiming for the next-generation Consoles and PCs with its latest game titles whic launch in 2014 and 2015.

Cyberpunk 2077 - Next-Generation Gaming Title for PCs and Consoles

The Cyberpunk 2077 trailer is a fantastic piece of CGI once again by the CD Projekt which shows a woman whose a 'Pyscho' which is basically an individual who overuse implants and substances that boost or otherwise alter the human body. As you can note, the woman takes no effect from the bullet damage fired by 'Pyscho Squad' whose aim is to take down such individuals. A member of the police department who is most probably looking as the protagonist of the game aims for the Pyscho's head almost pulling the trigger although he doesn't.. Later we see the same police guy accompanied by the same woman (Psycho) who he seems to have saved and now becomes part of the same police force. This could be a major plot of the game being teased by CD Projekt so we expect proper details when the full trailer arrives later onwards.

“In 2077 as we imagine it, technology will be so advanced that implants will fit in the tip of a needle, making modification easy. The decision to change will therefore be largely aesthetic and ostensibly harmless. Realskin synthetic skin looks real but is better than real. It’s soft, it has pores that subtly release sweat, but it is so much more. It’s amazing, those who adopt it look like pumped, modified dolls, because they are perfect, or some version of it. When people choose modification, they’re making a statement, they’re expressing a preference.”

“When somebody walks around with a chrome hand, it’s not because there’s some underlying technology that makes their hand look like that. It’s because they think chrome hands look cool. When somebody has a leg with servomotors, it’s because they choose to look extreme (like the best new carbon fiber bike). And their choice is completely based on style, it extends and enriches their style. You’ll get access to a rich arsenal of firearms, but if you want to have blades because they look cool, go for it. All these elements will make it into Cyberpunk 2077. 'Style Over Substance' is our core theme, after all.” TechnoBuffalo

The trailer finished with a bold message by the developer:

Coming: When its ready...

Also hinting at 5th February 2013 date for when new details of the game arrive. Cyberpunk 2077 is an AAA+ title  which is aimed for Next-Generation of consoles and the latest PCs that would be available in the upcoming years. Eurogamer got key details from the game developers on their upcoming launch titles including Cyberpunk 2077:

"I can tell you we are and we were focusing on powerful gaming rigs. We're going to do something amazing, so we need extra processors.

"It will be multi-platform game, so the multi-release at the same time. But if you are talking about leading platform, we will use most powerful, just because it can give us the freedom of creation.

When does CD Projekt Red begin making an engine for the next generation of machines?

"We've already started," Badowski revealed. Eurogamer

So its confirmed that the leading platform of the next-generation Cyberpunk 2077 is the PC which is great to hear. CD Project have always been keen towards the PC since the Witcher games first arrived on the PC and featured the latest graphics engine and features on the platform. Knowing that the PCs of 2014 and 2015 would be upgraded with Intel Broadwell and Maxwell/Sea Island generation of GPUs, the choice of the leading platform was obvious. The game when launched would be available simultaneously on the PC, PS4 and Xbox 720. Looks like the current generation of consoles won't be getting this gem - Cyberpunk 2077.
