Apple has just released watchOS 3.1 and tvOS 10.0.1 Beta 2 a while back. Both updates are available to download for developers only.
watchOS 3.1 & tvOS 10.0.1 Beta 2 Have Been Released
Apple released iOS 10.1 Beta 2 as well as watchOS 3.1 and tvOS 10.0.1 Beta 2. The latter two are available for developers only, which means you can grab it over the air if you have a previous beta installed. In order to install fresh, then you need to head over to the Apple Developer Program website to grab the pre-release bits. Keep in mind that the Apple Developer Program membership will set you back $99 on an yearly basis. But in return you get access to software bits that aren't available to the public, such as watchOS 3.1 and tvOS 10.0.1.
Download watchOS 3.1 Beta 2
In order to update to the latest build of watchOS 3.1 Beta, here are the steps you need to follow:
- Place your Apple Watch on its magnetic charger. This is an important step otherwise the installation process won't move forward.
- On your iPhone, launch the Watch app and navigate to General > Software Update.
- Once the latest beta build pops up, simply tap on the 'Download and Install' button. Rest is all a matter of playing the waiting game.
Download tvOS 10.0.1 Beta 2
Just like watchOS 3.1, tvOS 10.0.1 Beta 2 is available to download over the air as well. Simply follow the steps outlined below for installation.
- Turn on your Apple TV 4.
- Navigate to Settings.
- Now select System.
- Select Software Updates and download the latest update that is available to you.
Your Apple TV will require a restart in order to complete the installation process, so make sure you're ready for it. Also, please do not touch your Apple TV or power it off during the download and installation process. It can damage the device, forcing you to restore the software from the ground up. It's a lot of hassle and you do not want to go through it in any case.
