NVIDIA is working with Warner Bros. in order to improve performance of Batman Arkham Knight on PC, a representative from the company told Videogamer.
"We are working with WB Games and the development teams to address the performance issues of the PC version of Batman Arkham Knight. We have made our QA and engineering resources available and will provide updates when they are available."
Batman Arkham Knight on the PC, is supposed to offer additional detail over the console versions, including higher rendering resolutions and a range of Nvidia GameWorks effects such as interactive fog and smoke, interactive paper debris, PhysX destruction and enhanced rain.
Unfortunately, even if the exclusive effects do allow for some additional enhancements, the PC version seems to lack key visual effects available on PS4 even at High settings. Ambient occlusion is completely absent from the game and other effects, like bokeh depth of field is kept to a minimum. The transparency layer of the raindrops is also cut, resulting in a far less atmospheric Gotham City.
Rain is also lacking especially its effect on the batmobile, although specular and normal maps remain identical to the console release. The PC's highest settings show very little difference otherwise to the PS4 version.
Thankfully Game Director and co-founder of Rocksteady Games, Sefton Hill, assures that the team has their best engineers assisting to fix the issues.
Totally supported decision to suspend PC version. We have our best engineers at Rocksteady working like crazy to help fix the issues ASAP.

Lets hope that this time the PC version gets the attention it deserves and the PC community ends up with a stellar game like the consoles. Hill also mentions that the PC update is of greatest importance and takes precedence over the other versions at this point, indicating that a possible fix may arrive sooner rather than later and the suspension on sales of the title will soon be lifted.
Thanks for the feedback! We hear you and are looking into it. Will keep you updated. (PC fixes come first) https://t.co/C3G5SKDArR

Regardless of the PC port being done by a lesser known developer, and even if it might be a case of the particular version not receiving the attention it required to shine, it appears that at this point both Rocksteady and Warner Bros. are dedicating time and resources in order to both improve performance and hopefully deliver a worthy experience for PC gamers.
