ASUS Shows its Radeon HD7800 Series GPU’s Featuring the DirectCU II Heatsink

ASUS, today announced the new HD7800 Series lineup making use of the manufacturer's finest DirectCU II heatsink. Both the ASUS Radeon HD7870 and HD7850 Direct CU II Top would be equipped with the dual slot mammoth heatsink which would provide superior cooling performance to allow for better overclocking.

The Direct CU II Top variants would also come with a 5-10% factory OC out of box and would hit retail on March 19th. As far as specs go, The Radeon HD7870 would feature 1280 Stream Processors, 80 TMU's, 32 ROPs and a 2GB GDDR5 (256-bit) memory. Core clock would be maintained at 1100Mhz and memory at 1250Mhz (5Ghz Effective).

The Radeon HD7850 Direct CU II Top would feature 1024 Stream Processors clocked at 975Mhz, Memory specs are same. Both cards are compatible with PCI-e 3.0 slots and overclocking through ASUS GPU Tweak software included in the bundle.
