Apple Releases tvOS 10.2.2 Beta 5 for Developers
Apple's beta releasing spree continues with the rollout of tvOS 10.2.2 Beta 5. Here's how you can update straight away.
tvOS 10.2.2 Beta 5 Released as Final Build Approaches the Horizon
Things must be really busy at Apple these days in the software department. The company is gearing up to add polish to its upcoming software lineup, while at the same time maintaining its current, publicly available one. tvOS 10.2.2 Beta 5 is part of the latter, and has just been released for developers around the world for download.
If you already have a previous beta of tvOS 10.2.2 installed on your Apple TV 4, then you can grab the update over the air. You can do so by heading over to Settings > System > Software Updates on your Apple TV device. The installation will require you to restart your Apple TV so be prepared for that.
Looking to install tvOS 10.2.2 Beta on your Apple TV for the first time? Well, you'll need an Apple Developer Program membership first. Already have one? Then head over to the downloads section and grab the image file from there. You'll require a USB-C cable along with a computer running iTunes in order to flash it. If you believe that's a lot of trouble to go through then you have the secondary option of downloading the update over the air as well. This ensures that you do not lose your settings or files as well.
Quite frankly, it's likely that this is the last beta Apple will ever release for tvOS 10.2.2. Therefore I wouldn't recommend going through the trouble of installing the software just to see what's new before anyone else. Just wait a couple of weeks, or maybe less, and you'll be absolutely golden.
We will update our readers as soon as the software is available for everyone to download, so stay tuned.
