Yooka-Laylee, the platform game currently in development by Playtronic, is one of the most anticipated indie titles still in development. The game, which managed to get successfully crowfunded in just 38 minutes, was scheduled for a 2016 release but, unfortunately, it looks like platform games fans will have to wait a bit longer than anticipated.

Earlier today, a new Yooka-Laylee trailer has been made available just in time for the E3 2016, which will officially start in the next few days. The trailer, which shows plenty of colorful action, also confirms that the game will be released sometime during the first quarter of 2017, instead of this year. You can check out the trailer below.

“After a lot of soul searching and knowing through dialogue with our fans that they value quality and polish above all, we’ve made the difficult decision to lock the release of Yooka-Laylee to Q1 2017,” Price said. “While we felt confident we could ship the game in October as originally planned, the team has decided that it would like to add a few extra months’ polish to our schedule. Ultimately, this will allow us to release a better game to the thousands of fans who’ve supported us throughout development.”

Even with the game’s getting delayed, we are still going to get a glimpse of Yooka-Laylee’s gameplay experience soon. Playtronic confirmed today that the team will showcase the game for the first time to the media at the E3 2016. The game will also be available in playable form.

Yooka-Laylee will launch on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Wii U in the first quarter of 2017. We will keep you updated on Playtronic’s upcoming platform game as soon as possible, so stay tuned for all the latest updates.
