Warhammer 40,000: Regicide Receives Massive Update
Warhammer 40,000: Regicide, a turn-based strategy masterpiece, has just received a very major update that adds a tremendous amount of new content and bug fixes to an already positively received game.
Warhammer 40,000: Regicide’s huge update adds new environments, two factions, a hotseat and a host of new multiplayer features.
Early Access isn’t always a positive household term, associated with games that either don’t get supported enough or that simply die even though we’ve paid good money for them. There are, however fantastic examples of games that take great advantage of what Early Access truly can offer. Warhammer: 40,000: Regicide is also doing it’s best to adapt and evolve to what players truly want.
Hammerfall Publishing has been hard at work updating their chess-like strategy game with better animations, far more intense special effects and updated sound effects for a truly extraordinary experience.
The heavy-hitting heroes of Warhammer 40,000: Regicide have seen updated animations for many sequence-effects with a wide range of sparks, blood and impacts now keyed to objective sources. Almost a hundred new or improved sound effects provide an additional crunch to the visual update.
This new update brings two new very familiar factions, the Raven Guard and the Snakebites. The Raven Guard are one of the original First Founding Chapters of the Space Marines and have some very cunning warriors as part of their faction. The Snakebites are a klan of Orks that are surprisingly technologically advanced and are considered one of the most ferocious of the Ork klans.
A new “hotseat” mode allows for local multuplayer on the same machine, so you can relive a dynamic and almost authentic board game experience. Multiplayer has been refined with new functionality that allows players to:
- Choose their starting board side
- Easily challenge friends to quick battles, directly from their Friends list
- Claim victory when opponents leave (forfeit) Live matches
Warhammer 40,000: Regicide is available now in Early Access and has received very positive reviews so far. In essence, this is chess with a distinct flavor. It’s a bloody, violent and awesome way to enjoy a classic game, especially if you like Warhammer. If you don’t, it still might be enjoyable. Even in its early stage, it’s been out since May of 2015, it has a deep experience.
