Waking Titan Search Hints at New No Man’s Sky Update 1.3
A new document that has surfaced as part of the Waking Titan search, hints at a new upcoming No Man’s Sky update 1.3.
Waking Titan is a large-scale alternate reality game that appears to be connected to Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky. Those participating in the Waking Titan search have now found an internal document on the website of the game.
The two-page internal document mentions that Project Waking Titan will be completed next month. Interestingly, the document is signed by writer S.M., which most probably refers to No Man’s Sky creator Sean Murray. Those participating in the ‘search’ are thanked for their contribution, and S.M. promises that their feedback will be used in “version 1.3” of a familiar universe, presumably referring to No Man’s Sky, which is currently running on version 1.2. Down below you’ll find a part of the internal Waking Search document, signed by S.M.:
Engineering Notes Alpha-2621
We want to extend our gratitude to everyone who has contributed to the Mercury subroutine so far. We hope you have enjoyed the successful distribution of 180 Access IDs, and we hope you will also appreciate the other interesting artifacts we have in store for you going forward. We intend to keep the process alive until the completion of Project Waking Titan in August.
It is important to mention that we are very excited by the coming Phases 2 and 3. Input from the Mercury Subroutine will pave the way toward new experiences in version 1.3 of a familiar universe. We look forward to the successful conclusion of this ground-breaking experiment.
No Man’s Sky was released for both PC and PS4 back in August of 2016. In March of this year, Hello Games released the 1.2 Pathfinder update for the game, which added planetary vehicles, base sharing, PS4 Pro support, ship/weapon specialization, permadeath mode, and much more.
