A new video has surfaced online that crashes an iPhone completely, requiring a hard reset to fix things once again.

Who Would’ve Thought a Video Would Crash an iPhone

In the past we have seen a bunch of instances where an iPhone or iPad completely gives up the ghost after visiting a particular link via Safari. But it never occurred to us a video would be able to do the same, crippling an iPhone completely.

As showcased in a video by EverythingApplePro on YouTube, the video link, once visited, will slow down your iPhone, before eventually freezing completely. Check out the video below and see for yourself how it works.

As showcased by EverythingApplePro above, your iPhone will first slow down, after which it will completely freeze. Even if you press the Home button or Sleep / Wake button, nothing will happen at all. It feels as though your smartphone has suffered a severe panic attack. But a quick hard reset will get things back to normal. And in case. you’re wondering – a hard reset will not alter anything on your device. It will simply reboot it forcefully so that you can use it normally once again.

If you have an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, the steps for hard resetting are slightly different and you can check them out right here. Older device owners can check out the tutorial posted here. For obvious reasons, we won’t be linking to the video at all, but you can find it elsewhere if you do a little research on your own.

It’s interesting why this phenomenon is happening in the first place and it affects devices all the way back to iOS 5, along with the latest iOS 10 release. It’s a good idea to know how you can hard reset your iPhone just in case your friends decide to go berserk in their pranking game and send you the clip over.

Although this little clip will freeze your smartphone to a complete halt, but apparently it poses no security risk, for the time being. It’s just absolutely annoying that your device will completely slow down, eventually freezing, forcing you to hard reset. There’s no way around this problem at all. You have to go through the misery once you see the small clip.

Hopefully Apple will investigate the issue and push out a fix promptly for users around the globe. Till then, you now have a new thing at hand to troll iPhone users.
