Ultimate Team for FIFA 11 Coming Next Month, Sells 2.6 Million Units in Opening weekend.

When FIFA 10 was launched, It sold a couple of Million units soon after its release. Well FIFA 11 just broke that record by selling 2.6 million units in its opening weekend and players who got the game are going to be rewarded with the Ultimate Team coming next month for free.

According to the publisher, The game has got $150 million in sales thus far. And the Ultimated Team DLC coming next month will be totally free for the users who bought the game. EA Sports head Peter Moore stated:

“We’re thrilled at how fans embraced FIFA 11 last weekend, and we are excited to be able to offer one of our most popular game modes – FIFA 11 Ultimate Team – for free this November. This is a landmark achievement for EA SPORTS – we’ve shattered sales records at retail, critics are praising FIFA 11 as being one of the most authentic and innovative titles ever, and fans are connecting and competing with other gamers around the world and have logged a record number of online connected game sessions.”

Also to be noted that the period between October 1-2 was the busiest an EA Sports title has ever had with 11.3 million players playing the game and an overall 18 million players were on EA Sports online mode overall at the time.
