New Total War: Warhammer Trailer Shows Fantastic Underground Battles Entirely In-Game Engine

A new Total War: Warhammer trailer has arrived and it shows us just what the underground epic battles with the Dwarfen race will look like. The entire thing is rendered using the in-game engine, though it’s still obviously an early build.

Dwarfs face off in caverns in the newest Total War: Warhammer trailer.

Just last week we were given a sneak peek at some developmental footage of the progress that Creative Assembly had made on integrating the Dwarfen race into Total War: Warhammer. The modeling and textures looked great for such an early stage. Now, however, we can see what kind of warfare these minuscule minions are capable of.

What we see above is an underground battle, an environment that seems to look rather cramped from the art style chosen and might even necessitate the creative use of terrain to become victorious.

Total War: Warhammer is scheduled for release sometime in 2016, and they are hard at work bringing some very novel ideas into the Total War franchise. This could perhaps help to strengthen the brand after Total War: Attila was released to mixed reviews. This could also prove to bring Warhammer to the masses. It certainly could do very well in this particular genre. We’ll bring you any news as soon as it becomes available.
