SHAtter Exploit capable of Jailbreaking the New Apple TV
General

iPhone Dev-Team member MuscleNerd has confirmed today that the SHAtter Exploit which was founded by the Chronic Dev-Team’s member Pod2G is capable of Jailbreaking the New Apple TV and will work on it. Apple TV which also runs on the iOS 4.1 if ever jailbreaked through SHAtter will be quite amazing.

It’s looking like SHAtter is going to be the gift that keeps on giving. Even though the new AppleTV isn’t yet in people’s homes, the firmware is available on Apple’s normal public distribution servers and SHAtter has been used to decrypt its keys! The main filesystem (“Mojave8M89.K66OS”) key for 018-8609-066.dmg is:

31c700a852f1877c88efc05bc5c63e8c7f081c4cb28d024ed7f9b0dbc98c7e1406e499c6

If you’re familiar with vfdecrypt, you can use that key to decrypt the image and mount it. If you do so, feel free to use the comments section to discuss what you discover there (And of course, thanks @pod2g!)

Being a bootrom exploit, Apple can only patch it by releasing a revised version of the hardware when the SHAtter exploit would go public. So getting the iOS deceives soon will be better to make sure you get the older exploitable hardware.

Those interested in *potential* AppleTV JBs, better to buy early! Remember iPhone3GS hardware was updated to fix JB hole

Self tying shoe laces, no longer a fantasy
General

When Back to The Future 2 was new we were amazed by many marvels which the Doc and Marty McFly witness such as hovering cars, hovering skate boards and 5-D movie trailers but among those amazing innovations was something else in the movie which most of us may have forgotten by now. Upon arriving to the year 2015, Doc gives Marty a pair of Nike shoes which automatically tie themselves and adjust themselves according the wearers foot size automatically for maximum comfort who among us wouldn’t want such a great pair of shoes in our collection? (Certainly those of you who wear sandals and walkers wouldn’t). Even though the shoes in the movie had the Nike logo on them I wasn’t expecting them to work on these things any time soon though which is quite a surprise to me.

But none the less Nike IS now working on making these shoes a reality for consumers every where pictures of the shoe and its mechanics have already hit the internet and the patent is already pending for review, although I am ABSOLUTELY certain that though these shoes may look like every nerds dream and may finally put the “Oh look your shoe laces are untied” joke to rest, the price of these shoes will definitely cost a very pretty penny, I would say the price would definitely be >$250 mark.

Blackberry OS Pounces Android 2.1 and iOS 4.0
General

In a recent test conducted using Webkit browser, the Blackberry OS has been seen as the reigning champion over Android 2.1 and iPhone iOS 4.0. Of course, it might be a bit unfair to rival it against Android 2.1, and not Froyo [2.2] which is faster, but it at least gives the satisfaction to Blackberry fans that the browser if of worthy capabilities and that the hardware will be matched by an equally worthy browser. Below are the scores with the 1st one being of Blackberry, then of iPhone iOS 4.0 and then lastly of Android.

Here is a video showing the Blackberry browser running on a Blackberry 9800 in action.
