Star Wars Battlefront: Speeder Bikes Are Not an On-Rails Experience and More News

Posted 1 year ago

Star Wars Battlefront was one of the games at E3 that stood out and it’s amazing gameplay trailer stunned everyone by the amount of diversity that the game had. Star Wars Battlefront has been a highly debated topic ever since and in that stead, we have some news to share with the fans as well. Star Wars Battlefront fans will be happy to know that Speeder Bikes in the game won’t be just an on-rails only experience and that means that you will be allowed to roam the Star Wars Battlefront arena freely on Speeder Bikes. How awesome is that?

You Will be Able to Drive the Speeder Bikes Yourself in Star Wars Battlefront

Electronic Arts Community Manager, Matthew Everett, answered a few questions about the game as he made his way onto Reddit recently. One that particularly caught a lot of attention was when a fan asked  if the Speeder Bike on Endor will be an on-rails only experience in Star Wars Battlefront. Everett said “no” which means that it will be an independant experience.

In the original Star Wars Battlefront, Speeder Bike was also an independent experience where they were not supported well by the game mechanics. They moved very fast and it was an unstable experience where you could easily crash and commit suicide. It will be interesting to see how DICE tackles this problem and makes it an overall stable in-game experience.

The Community Manager also confirmed in another reply to a fan that the Walker Assault mode in Star Wars Battlefront will not be the only one to feature vehicles. However, DICE will share details of other mas at a later date. Last but not the least, Everett said people playing Star Wars Battlefront won’t be able to carry vehicle power ups if they don’t use it. If you have a vehicle power up and don’t use it, you will lose it.
