Star Wars Battlefront Alpha – Minimum PC Requirements

Posted 1 year ago

Star Wars Battlefront was one of the games at E3 that caught the eyes of everyone, not only because it was so highly anticipated but also because the amazing gameplay and visuals of the game stood out from the rest. The crowd which was used to seeing a typical trend in RPGs was surprised at what DICE had come up with for them. The smooth transition between different types of game mechanics ranging from controlling a jedi to a jet was catchy to say the least.

More recently, DICE announced yesterday that the Alpha testing for Star Wars Battlefront will be starting from the 2nd of July. Players will be hand-picked for random testing by the developers and if you want to be one of them, you can sign up for the closed alpha here. The game will also be playable at San Diego Comic Con between July 9th and July 12th according to the official EA Star Wars twitter account.

The GPU Requirements for Star Wars Battlefront Are Quite Hefty

Gamepur has come up with an interesting detail on the “Minimum PC System Requirement” for Star Wars Battlefront. Although they do not name their source or their contact but as the game testing is exclusively on PC, Star Wars Battlefront developers were liable to release minimum PC requirements for the testers and hence these requirements might be the real deal. Gamepur is certainly confident about these.

You can check out the minimum PC requirements for Star Wars Battlefront below:

CPU: Quad Core CPU eg. Intel Core i5-2300 @ 2.8GHz or AMD Phenom II x4 955 @3.2GHz or AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0GHz.
OS: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8/8.1 (64-bit Operating System Required)
Video Card: Nvidia GEFORCE GTX 680 or AMD Radeon HD 7970 with 2GB of Video Memory.

As mentioned above, the GPU requirements are indeed very hefty and the might tone down a bit in the future as the developers further optimise the game but this just goes to show that a decent GPU is becoming more of a necessity for even a entry-level gamer.
