Currently, the jailbreak world is awaiting an iOS 10.3 Pangu jailbreak as well as one for iOS 10.3.1. While things are in cue though, progress has been made for those currently sitting on iOS 10.1.1, that too on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Thanks to the hard work of developer xerub, extra_recipe+yaluX has been made possible. Luca Tudesco on the other hand, was keen enough to combine the code from xerub into Yalu, coming up with a .ipa file which anyone can utilize as long as they are on iOS 10.1.1 and boast an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus. Using this .ipa file, anyone who fulfills the criteria can jailbreak their device.

While it all sounds great, there are few things you must understand at this point. The iOS 10.1.1 jailbreak is currently sitting at beta 1. Indeed it’s stable as promised, but that means you do not get Substrate, nor Cydia, out of the box. So in that regard, the entire package is a bad deal for a few users out there.

However, with the passage of time, things will be sorted out properly, making the entire thing great as ever. Basically, what I’m trying to say here is: wait until at least two betas of extra_recipe+yaluX are made available before going ahead with the download and jailbreak process. If you want to go ahead with the jailbreak right now and take the expert approach, then it’s entirely your call. Just make sure you download the .ipa file from here. Use Cydia Impactor to liberate your device.

If you are currently on iOS 10.2, then you might want to turn your rudder towards Yalu102 for a jailbreak. Simply follow the guide posted here for more details: Jailbreak iOS 10.2 Using Yalu102 on iPhone & iPad.

It’s good to see some progress for those sitting on iOS 10.1.1. Although things are moving slowly in the jailbreak world, but strides are huge once they do happen. Hence, we will keep a close eye on more developments in this arena as it unfolds.
