Unique racing games rarely make it to gaming, but when they do, they rock our world. Smugglecraft is such a game, and it looks fantastic in a new trailer that showcases just what it’s capable of on the PS4.

Smugglecraft gets a PS4 gameplay trailer, showing us some fantastic fast-paced smuggling action.

The trailer above offers us a glimpse into just how Happy Badger Studio’s quest-based racing game will play. The classic shaded polygonal graphics combined with the arcade like controls look to offer a good entry into the casual racing genre.

Smugglecraft puts you in the role of a hovercraft operator that needs to make quick cash to settle your ever increasing debts. And what better way to do that than to smuggle technology across open landscapes to those in need?

You’ve got a fast hovercraft and a heavy debt. Also the world is falling apart.

As a smuggler in a society in which travel, trade, and technology are highly regulated and virtually inaccessible for most, your deliveries could decide the fate of your world.

One of the most interesting features of Smugglecraft is the randomly generated tracks that keep the gameplay unique each and every time you play. No track is the same, ever. That and there’s a soundtrack created by Bravendary, a composer that blends classical music with electronic music.

Throughout the game you can complete quests and missions to win money to pay off those debts and to upgrade that hovercraft. You’ll be able to fully upgrade your hovercraft to include different parts to increase your speed and handling.

Smugglecraft is certainly an interesting new game, with a lot of great new ideas that might just be well suited to the DualShock 4 controller. It’ll be released in the Spring of 2016 on PS4, PC, Mac and Linux through Steam.
