If you’re concerned about your Facebook privacy then do take note that the social media platform does not let you control several privacy options. For instance, you do not have an option to hide your online status or disable the typing indicator. So, if you happen to have a jailbroken iPhone, you might be able to control your Facebook privacy according to your need. To do that, we have just the jailbreak tweak that will enable you to do so.

Dodge Facebook Privacy Restrictions With SilentMessenger

SilentMessenger is a new tweak for all jailbreak users that provides privacy options not present on Facebook or its native Messenger app. What the tweak does is simple. You can use Facebook in an invisible mode, suggesting that you can hide your online status as well as the typing indicator. This way others would not see if you’re typing a message or are online. So, your friends or any other person wouldn’t have the slightest clue that you have read their message. There are a few other options in the SilenMessenger jailbreak tweak as well.

Apart from the basic Facebook privacy features, the tweak also features some enhancement functionalities. Some of them include sending as much photos as you want in a message. You can send videos without any duration limitations as well as prevent automatic playback of videos.

SilentMessenger has a dedicated pane in the Settings app. Once you install the tweak, you can enable or disable it from there. There are abundant toggles listed, each of which corresponds to a dedicated feature. You can choose which feature to enable and disable. You can also read a description for each feature that you choose. SilentMessenger also has a Silent Mode toggle that does the following when it is activated.

  • Disables Facebook’s VoIP
  • Hides last seen stamp and online status
  • Disables read receipts and typing indicator

A blue bar appears at the top of the Facebook Messenger that suggests that Silent Mode is activated. The only caveat associated with SilentMessenger is that once you enable your Facebook privacy, you won’t be able to see the other person’s last seen, online status, typing indicator and read receipts as well. So, you won’t know whether the other person has read your message or not. Nonetheless, it’s a great tweak if you wish to pass through all of Facebook privacy restrictions.

The tweak is available on Cydia’s BigBoss repo for $1.5 and supports devices running iOS 7 to iOS 9. What do you think about this tweak? Would it be of any help to you? Share your views in the comments.
