[Update] Publisher Deep Silver has released a press release concerning the publishing deal with Ys Net:

[Original story] Publisher of the Metro and Dead Island series, Deep Silver, will be globally publishing the upcoming Shenmue III from developer Ys Net.

The news was announced on the official website of the Shenmue III project. “Game fans may already be familiar with Deep Silver, as they are a trusted brand who has helped many Japanese game titles find their audiences around the world”, Ys Net wrote. “We are proud to have gained a wonderfully reliable partner to make sure Shenmue III reaches all its fans all over the planet.”

Ys Net, helmed by Shenmue creator Yu Suzuki, announced his Shenmue III project back in June of 2015. The game, funded through a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign, is scheduled for a release on both PC and PS4 in 2018.
