Rumor: Call Of Duty Black Ops Available For Xbox One Via Backwards Compatibility
The original Call Of Duty: Black Ops seems to have been made available for Xbox One via backwards compatibility.
If recently uploaded screenshots from Reddit user Super_Saiyajin are to believed, the 2010 Xbox 360 title, Call of Duty: Black Ops, has been added to the library of Xbox 360 games on Xbox One.
Fans already suggested that the original Black Ops would be made available when Xbox’s Mike Ybarra took to Twitter to tease something Xbox related overnight. Additionally, Black Ops 1 was made available today via Xbox’s Games With Gold program for a reduced price.

The first Black Ops was officially announced back in April of 2010, and was released later that year for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
“We can’t wait for our community to experience Call of Duty: Black Ops,” said Mark Lamia, Studio Head for Treyarch back in 2010. “We have focused our entire studio on this game, with dedicated multiplayer, single-player and co-op teams creating the most intense, gripping and riveting experience possible for our fans on all fronts.”
Following its release in November 2010, publisher Activision announced that the shooter had established an all-new five-day worldwide sell-through record, exceeding Activision’s previous five-day worldwide record of $550 million set by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
“Call of Duty has become the first entertainment property in history to set five-day launch records for two consecutive years across all forms of entertainment,” said Activision’s CEO Robert Kotick. “The title’s success illustrates the mass appeal of interactive entertainment as millions of consumers are choosing to play Call of Duty: Black Ops at unprecedented levels rather than engage in other forms of media. The number of people playing online and the number of hours they are playing demonstrates how online gaming has become a mainstream form of entertainment and certainly validates Activision Blizzard’s leadership role in online entertainment.”
Blacks Ops for Xbox One via backwards compatibility hasn’t been officially confirmed, but we’re pretty sure that Microsoft will announce the title later today.
