The Redsn0w 0.9.6 is now available on Windows for download and will allow you to jailbreak iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G running on iOS 4.1. The MAC Version of Redsn0w was released on 21st September. And also dont use the new Redsn0w update if your iPhone 3G relies on the Ultrasn0w unlock because it will update your Baseband to the latest version available and will be hard for you to unlock.
Here’s what MuscleNerd posted a while ago on twitter before the update s released:
This is a beta release of redsn0w for the iPhone3G and iPod Touch 2G at FW 4.1 or 4.0. It uses the same pwnage2 DFU-mode exploit that we’ve been using since the 2.x days. It does not include the SHAtter exploit developed by pod2g. Nothing new is revealed to Apple with this jailbreak.
if you have an “MC” model of the ipt2g, your jailbreak will be tethered…sorry! (Consider rolling back to a FW supported by jailbreakme.com or spiritjb.com)Advertisement
Although this update has been released but iPhone 4, iPad, iPod touch 4G and Apple TV 2G users on iOS 4.1 will have to wait till the GreenPois0n update is released on Sunday, October 10th 2010.
