One of the best price/performance smartphones of all time, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is about to reach yet another milestone for the company, and that happens to be reaching a new sales figure.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Was Able To Sell 800,000 Units Within Two Hours And Now The Company Expects The Product To Reach Another Milestone

Previously, we reported that the company was able to sell 800,000 units of its Redmi Note 2 in just a time span that lasted 24 hours. Afterwards, it was revealed that the handset was able to sell 1.5 million units in just half a month, which is phenomenal, but that is not the end of the road for the affordable smartphone. According to a source, the CEO of the rising Chinese tech star, Lei Jun has said that the smartphone will easily be able to scale the 10 million sales mark, which is also going to cause a bit of an issue for the company in terms the daily quota.

This is because in order to meet the demand, the company has been forced to invest heavily in upgrading its production capacity. Now, thanks to automated production, more Redmi Note 2 units will be rolled out by the company and in the process, the company will be able to reach the milestone during an undisclosed period in 2016. One of the reasons why the smartphone has become a popular product amongst consumers (while still being limited to China) is because it packs really impressive hardware and costs less than $150.

It is possible that Xiaomi could be rolling a Helio X20 version of Redmi Note 2, but for now, customers will be enjoying the Helio X10 variant for as long as they can. The chipset is running eight Cortex-A53 cores running at a speed of 2.0GHz (this is for the 16GB model; the 32GB model has the processor’s clock speed running at 2.2GHz) and its performance is supplemented by 2GB of RAM and a PowerVR G6200 GPU. The device possesses a phablet sized form factor thanks to its 5.5 inch screen that resonates a 1080p resolution.

Even after possessing an affordable price tag, Redmi Note 2 has a 3,060mAh battery, along with a 13MP/5MP camera sensor combination. Xiaomi has not presented any ideas of shipping its smartphones outside the region of China, but the fact that the company had recently opened up its very first physical store shows that the company is ready to take it to the very next level.
