As the E3 gaming convention comes nearer, we hear news of new PS3 models. This news comes from the Federal Communication Commission. But the catch is, should we expect something different physically or not?. Should we expect a slimmer PS3 or maybe a slightly re-designed one?.

The FCC has certified both models: (CECH-2501A and CECH-2501B). Also we should not expect a new major re-design as there are two new debugging stations for the PS3 (DECH-2500A and DECH-S2500A).

The debug units usually only change when there is a new chipset. So most probably, the newer models will have a much more powerful/weaker chipset than the current model.
