ARK: Survival Evolved, the popular game developed by Studio Wildcard, is now available on PC and consoles, and the team is working hard to support the game with new content and features. Like many currently available and upcoming games, ARK: Survival Evolved will get Project Scorpio support, and Wildcard co-founder recently elaborated on the new Microsoft console and what its power will mean for the game.

In a new interview with the Daily Express, Jeremy Stieglitz talked about Project Scorpio, noting how the console seems to be powerful enough to support VR and, more importantly, make it look good. The team also has plans to improve the basic VR support now available in the game, hoping to do something a little different with the Vive.

It looks plenty powerful enough (for VR) to support it and have it look really good, it’s just a matter of getting our hands on the console and seeing what we can achieve with it.

For us we’re still very experimental with Virtual Reality in ARK, I do not think the VR support we have now is anywhere near the final implementation.

It’s quite basic and is something us to gather feedback to help us work out what to do with it. It’s there for the Oculus Rift and we’re hoping to do something a little different with the Vive.

And whatever Microsoft are doing with The Scorpio is a little further out but it’s definitely going to be on our radar when we get a development unit to start working with.

Project Scorpio will launch on a yet to be confirmed 2017 date in all regions. We will keep you updated on Microsoft’s upcoming console as soon as more comes in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
