Publisher Atlus announced a new internal studio and gave a hint of the new fantasy RPG being developed by Person 5 leads. Katsura Hashino will be heading the Studio Zero. His resume includes being Game Director on Persona 5, Catherine, and Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne.

There isn’t much new information about the new game being developed by Studio Zero aside from that it’s being called Project Re Fantasy with the tagline ‘A Fool’s Journey Begins.’ Joining Hashino will be Shigenori Soejima from the Atlus Art Team who’s tasked with creating the character art for the new RPG. Veteran composer Shoji Meguro will be the musical composer for the new game. Both of these men have worked on the art and music of most of Atlus’ products since 1996.

We take seriously this goal of creating a game with the care and detail expected by the people who love Atlus games and home console games. We haven’t determined yet what platform our new game will be, and I imagine this project will take a long time until completion. But we’ll be working hard at this challenge to truly deliver something new and incredible for all our fans.

Soejim and Megura will still continue their work on the Persona series while Hashino works on building the studio from the ground up. It sounds like Project Re fantasy is still in its infancy but Atlus is hoping for big things from the new studio.

P-Studio, the production team for the Persona series, will be operating at ‘full strength to develop new entries to fulfill the demand for the series.’
