OnePlus 3T Rumored to Be Announced in November – Could Be Another Affordable Daydream Ready Phone
To keep up with more powerful flagships, it looks like a more beefy version of the Snapdragon 820-powered OnePlus 3 is arriving and it is going to be called OnePlus 3T. The rumor states that the device is going to be unveiled later this month touting better hardware specifications than OnePlus 3, but because of these upgrades, it could also fetch a higher price.
OnePlus 3T Could Feature a Snapdragon 821 Along With a Better Camera Sensor and a Price Tag Under $500
According to the latest rumor, OnePlus 3T is expected to be announced on November 14, sporting hardware upgrades and features for the price it has been sold for. It was leaked earlier that OnePlus 3T is going to be offered for a price of $479, which obviously means that apart from a Snapdragon 821 SoC, we should be looking at other upgrades too. Snapdragon 821 is currently that fastest chipset powering Android handsets and there are several differences between this and Snapdragon 820. Since both of them are made on the 14nm architecture, the upgraded processor and GPU speed of the Snapdragon 821 could result in lowered battery life.
The higher rumored price tag also means that OnePlus 3T should come with a larger battery capacity compared to the 3,000mAh cell present in OnePlus 3, otherwise the rumored $479 price will appear like a complete rip-off. We should also expect a better camera sensor whose performance will be complemented by better hardware stabilization for both still shooting and video capture.
We’re also under the impression that OnePlus 3T will retain the same amount of RAM as OnePlus 3. Having 6GB of RAM in a smartphone is nothing but overkill and it also chews up more battery since more chips require battery to operate. Critics laid down the hammer on OnePlus 3 for compromising performance for the sake of battery life despite having 6GB of RAM, and to be honest, the same thing should not be repeated with the upcoming phone.
If OnePlus 3T is running Android Nougat 7.0, it will also become an affordable Daydream ready smartphone, but you’ll still have to wait for the official Daydream View VR headset to be available, which will start being sold from November 10.
