The 16MP rear camera sensor is an IMX298 from Sony and to give your memory a little jolt, it is the same sensor present in Huawei’s Mate 8, the Kirin 950 powered previous generation flagship. While EIS (electronic image stabilization) is a welcome feature to remove the blur when snapping images and videos, OnePlus 3’s rear sensor also features hardware stabilization, which is commonly known as OIS, which is the weapon of choice when you want to remove a lot of blur from images and videos.
One of the main selling points of OnePlus 3 is that there are other Android flagship currently flooding the market, and this device is able to provide the masses with 6GB of RAM in a $399 package and a Snapdragon 820 SoC. Now, we know what you might be thinking; 6GB of RAM will definitely consume a lot of battery life, but it definitely has its advantages as well. However, we are not going to ignore the fact that more RAM will definitely consume more battery life, which is why OnePlus incorporated its own Dash Charge technology inside its latest flagship offering.
While we are disappointed that the company only placed a 3,000mAh cell inside the non-removable housing, OnePlus’ Dash Charge technology will allow the smartphone’s battery to charge from 0-60 percent in just a matter of 30 minutes, which is kind of like how Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 functions.
As for the different color models that are going to be sold, OnePlus 3 will only be available in two of them; Graphite and Soft Gold. While consumers might be disappointed that more options were not added by the company, especially a Rose Gold themed one, such colors compliment that metallic chassis quite nicely. The screen size is a 5.5-inch Optic AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080p and this resolution will definitely allow the user to get more battery life since fewer number of pixels are going to stress the processor and GPU, so overall, it’s a great decision by the company.
