Even after it was announced that a OnePlus X successor is not going to be introduced, at least not this year, it looks like some leaks are leaning on the fact that a OnePlus 3 mini could be introduced in the near future. However, the company’s co-founder was quick to answer to these allegations.

The Only Smartphone For 2016 Will Be OnePlus 3 – 2017 Might Hold More Surprises For Us Such As A OnePlus 3 Mini

A post published by Phone Arena included the alleged specifications of a OnePlus 3 mini, to which Carl Pei quickly responded by the tweet below:

It’s possible that OnePlus 3 is going to be the only smartphone to be introduced this year so that the employees can pool in their resources and expertise to provide better ‘after sales’ support to consumers in the form of timely software and security updates, not to mention other improvements to the UI.

OnePlus 3 features a screen size of 5.5-inch and sports a different Optic AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080p. This is different compared to the Super AMOLED or regular AMOLED display that has become a common occurrence in mobile devices these days. A Snapdragon 820 SoC, and a 3,000mAh battery that provides support for OnePlus Dash Charge technology are also present.

Once again, the company has left out one of the most important features from a smartphone; a MicroSD card slot, but the company did incorporate 64GB of UFS 2.0 storage, which will come in handy when you want to record 4K footage at 30FPS. Apart from recording footage at the granddaddy of all resolutions, OnePlus 3 also comes with a 16MP Sony IMX298 camera sensor, and for those that don’t know, this is the same sensor that is present at the rear side of Huawei Mate 8, the previous generation flagship.

For a 6GB RAM smartphone, a $399 smartphone with a full metal jacket is really hard to believe, but we can safely say that it is one of the most affordable 6GB RAM Android phones available to the public right now.
