Frictional Games have released a new trailer for SOMA, giving us a brief look at some of the creatures that we will encounter in their upcoming horror title. SOMA is a sci-fi horror game from the creators of the groundbreaking Amnesia and Penumbra series.

SOMA will be even scarier than Amnesia

According to Frictional Games, SOMA will provide bigger scares than their hugely popular previous Amnesia title. A new, modified version of the Amnesia engine, will help provide a completely new level of atmosphere and horror. Frictional Games confess to have gained their inspirations from classic titles like DOOM, Bioshock and even the Silent Hill series.

The radio has gone silent on PATHOS-2. As isolation bears down on the staff of the remote research facility, strange things are happening.

Machines are taking on human traits and alien constructions have started to interfere with routine. The world around them is turning into a nightmare.

The only way out is to do something unimaginable.

SOMA brings underwater scares with hugely atmospheric environments

Frictional Games released another trailer a few days ago, showcasing the gorgeously atmospheric underwater environments of SOMA, which can be watched below:

SOMA is coming out on September 22, 2015 for the PlayStation 4 and PC. We will bring you any new information on SOMA as soon as it becomes available.
