Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is Capcom’s shot in the dark of making a Resident Evil game solely dedicated to giving players an experience in a game made solely for multiplayer Resident Evil, while fans were able to do this in Resident Evil: Mercenaries on the 3DS it wasn’t enought. So Capcom decided to expand on the multiplayer of the game and give fans of the series something other than single player story driven game.
In the latest trailer you are introduced to your squad members of the U.S.S and Spec Ops Echo Six, depending on the squad you choose your objectives can vary but your main objective will be to kill all humans (excluding your squad mates of course) and stop the Zombies along with any B.O.W’s you encounter along your way.
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City takes us away from the single player story and any hopes of playing as any of our favorite male / female protagonist in a story driven game, what you will get though is the chance to play as either a secret Umbrella Operative or a member of Spec Ops Echo Six and in certain game modes you can play as your favorite Resident Evil character too but that’s about it. The game how ever will give you the zombie slaying experience which PC and XBOX 360 fans have been enjoying for years with Left 4 Dead 2 but now that experience is going to be taken up a notch with Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City which will definitely give the console players a chance to finally have a good zombie slaying multiplayer game to brag about.
In the latest trailer you are shown the two sides you can choose to play as in Resident Evil, this is a first in the series and it really sounds amazing. You can either be a heartless Umbrella Soldier or be the good guys and kill them with some good ol’ fashioned military training. Which ever side you choose will still give you similar objectives in the game and will definitely let you develop a personality for the characters you wish to play as; you can be the good guy as always or take a walk on the other side and see how much fun Umbrella has with their advanced gear.
The game comes out on 20th March 2012 for the XBOX 360 and the PS3, the standard edition of the game comes for $59.99 and the Limited Edition is only $9.99 ($69.99) more expensive and definitely worth it.
