macOS 10.12.1 Beta 3 has been released. The newly available pre-release build is available for developers directly from Apple Developer Program portal.

Third Beta of macOS 10.12.1 Sierra is Now Available

Apple is working hard on the next version of Sierra which happens to carry a version number of 10.12.1. The third beta of said operating system is now available for all compatible Mac computers and those enrolled in the Apple Developer Program can download it right away. macOS 10.12.1 Beta 2 was released just last week.

If you have macOS 10.12.1 Beta already installed on your computer then you can grab the latest update straight from the Mac App Store. First and foremost connect your Mac to the Internet using either WiFi or Ethernet. Once that is out of the way, launch the Mac App Store, click on the Updates tab and download the latest build from there. The Mac App Store can take a while to refresh so please exercise patience.

The entire download won’t take more than a few minutes depending on the speed of your Internet connection. Also keep in mind that you will be required to restart your computer to complete the installation process. Therefore make sure you have saved all your work beforehand.

You’ll be pleased to learn that macOS 10.12.1 is available to download for public beta testers as well. Simply head over to beta.apple.com to access Apple’s Beta Software Program website and dive into more details. It’s absolutely free, unlike the Apple Developer Program, which requires you to pony up $99 on an yearly basis to keep things hot.

If you haven’t installed macOS 10.12.1 Beta on your Mac just yet, and are planning to do so, then please make sure you do it on a spare computer. Installing beta software on a primary work machine is not a good idea at all. After all, you are essentially dealing with beta software which is an unfinished product. There’s no indication at all where the software might end up becoming a roadblock in your day to day usage.

Wrap Up

We will dig into macOS 10.12.1 Beta 3 to see what Apple has packed under the hood. But given how the build is mainly focused towards bug fixes and performance enhancements, there’s no way Apple might have slipped in a huge surprise at this point.

Anyhow, update to macOS 10.12.1 right away, and we will inform our readers about more updates as they arrive, so stay tuned.
