After a boatload of rumors and leaks, the Cupertino tech giant has finally announced its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. You’ll be dying to know what Apple has placed inside its mobile computing powerhouses so let us list down everything that the company debriefed us on its latest handset family.

iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus – Specs, Features, Prices and Other Details

Both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus bring in a number of improvements. Can’t wait any longer? Here are all the details of the newest iPhone 7 siblings.

Design and Display

From a design standpoint, Apple brings in a new aluminum body and the jet black finish that looks absolutely stellar, along with a stainless steel Apple logo present at the back side. The company also states that the new integrated antennas have been placed in such a manner that they look completely subtle. As for the display, the screen is 25 percent brighter and can display a wide color gamut, and before you ask, the 3D Touch support has made a comeback here.

Water and Dust Resistant

The new iPhones are safe from water and dust because both of them are IP67 certified, meaning that those who are unable to take care of the devices from dust and water will not have to be worried about these elements.

A10 Fusion

A10 Fusion features a total of four processing cores. The first two cores are meant for tackling tasks that require the processing load, while the remaining two cores will tackle the low-end tasks. Additionally, the GPU in the iPhone 7 line is 240x faster than that of the original iPhone, while requiring just 2/3 of the power of the previous generation. Each performance CPU core is 40 percent faster than the A9 on the iPhone 6s. The efficiency cores run at 1/5th the power in order to converse as much battery life as possible.

Camera

For iPhone 7, Apple has incorporated a brand new 12MP rear camera on the rear side. There’s also an optical image stabilization chip present in both phones, and it features an aperture of F/1.8 to let in more light for better photography and videography. In addition, this new sensor is 60 percent faster and 30 percent more efficient. That’s not all, because the new image signal processor will be able to produce images with better tone. There is a total of 4 LED lights, which cast 50 percent more light and reaches at a higher distance.

Furthermore, there’s also a 7MP front camera sensor, which features automatic image stabilization. For the phablet smartphone, iPhone 7 Plus, it has a dual camera and sports a 10x zoom feature. The 1-2x is Optical while the 2x-10x is software on top of the telephoto lens. Apple is using the telephoto lens to create a shallow depth of field on the iPhone 7 Plus in order to produce DSLR quality bokeh.

Earpods Connected Over the Lightning Port

Like rumors had suggested, Apple has removed the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack. For the first time, Apple has used stereo speakers present at the top and the bottom of both iPhones. Apple’s lightning-based earpods will be included in the box, which is a good thing. The one thing that Apple has done very well is included Lightning-to-3.5mm adapter in the box, so you’ll have tremendous amounts of flexibility when compatibility is concerned. Just make sure not to lose that adapter.

Battery Life

According to Apple the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus deliver the best possible battery life from an iPhone in its class. The company states that with an iPhone 7, you can expect to get about 2 hours of battery more than what you were experiencing on your iPhone 6s. The iPhone 7 Plus on the other hand will be able to deliver at least 1 hour more compared to Apple’s iPhone 6s Plus. The talk time details have been given in the following screenshots.

Felica Support

If you have heard this term before, then you should know that both iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will support felica, which is the NFC technology used in Japan. Unfortunately, this feature can only be used for consumers who reside in Japan and who make contactless payment processes from their iPhones.

Wireless Connectivity Options

Both devices come with an advanced LTE modem, which is able to deliver up to 450Mbps of download speeds. The advanced LTE modem will most likely consume less battery, meaning that you will be able to access the web while connected to your LTE network for a longer period.
