Despite not having a 3.5mm headphone jack, both Apple’s iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus having taken the U.S. iPhone sales market by storm, as the latest Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) reports that both of these phones have accounted for nearly 50 percent of the total iPhone sales for the third quarter.

Latest Report States That iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus Models Have Accounted for 43 Percent of the Total Number of iPhone Sales in the United States for This Particular Quarter

For the third quarter, the iPhone 7 accounted for more sales compared to the phablet version of the latest generation iPhone family. Though larger screen phones have natural advantages such as a larger battery capacity and more real estate to view more content, iPhone 7 accounted for 31 percent of the overall sales, while iPhone 7 Plus took the remaining 12 percent of those sales. Thanks to the anticipation of newer models approaching, consumers will obviously wait for better versions to officially launch to get their hands on them.

It’s the prudent decision, knowing that the newer models will cost nearly the same as its predecessors, with the advantage here being that customers will get more storage from each model they intend on purchasing. More than a third of the consumers were upgrading from an iPhone 6 and an iPhone 6 Plus and generated 36 percent of all sales of the newer models. Those who are in possession of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus didn’t see any major reason to make an upgrade, which is why only 17 percent of sales were accounted for those who had previous generation iPhones with them.
